Our Aims and Objectives

We want you and your family to enjoy the beautiful woodlands. Whether it's going for walks or lending a helping hand to our volunteers who maintain the landscape (and the creatures that inhabit it), you are most welcome.
Some of our more detailed aims:
- Our principal aim is to maintain, regenerate and enhance Knolls Wood - reflecting its history, location and habitat, and for its potential amenity and education value
- Through our conservation efforts and educationally, to protect against the loss of nature (woodland and wildlife) in this area and more broadly - conscious of the impact of climate and nature crisis on our planet
- Preservation of its important specimen trees, where possible, enhancing the rest of this ornamental woodland in keeping with its character and landscape, and to support wildlife habitats
- To provide the public access to Knolls Wood and promote awareness of the mental and physical health benefits of a woodland haven
- To monitor and review long-term planning, involve the local community, and influence policy outcomes
- To record and preserve the history of Knolls Wood
- To work with the Greensand Trust (GST) and Central Beds Council (CBC), both practically and on management plans - setting and achieving objectives, to enhance and maintain Knolls Wood
- To prevent exploitation of, or threats to, Knolls Wood and local environment
