Become a Knolls Wood Volunteer

We organise volunteer action days with the Greensand Trust to help with projects in the Wood, anything from clearing unwanted vegetation to new-planting, on Sundays up to five times a year; and other events from time to time.

Our Volunteers usually engage in practical tasks that can be suited to the individual - species or site monitoring, litter picking, and under guidance from our Greensand Trust Ranger (to help achieve the Management Plan) clearance of invasive species, planting new saplings, hedge-laying and habitat piles. (Equipment, instructions and Health & Safety training are provided.)

Up to five Volunteer Action Days a year may be scheduled with other activities occasionally. Half a day, five times a year 10am-1pm on Sundays usually the third weekend January, March, June, September, and November.

You can check the dates of our volunteer action days on this website, or catch up with us on Instagram (@friendsofknollswood) or Facebook (www.facebook.com/friendsofknollswood). You can just come along, or you can let us know through the website if you plan to attend.
